Hot Air Dryers

DH series dryer on carriageMost materials require drying prior to use otherwise hydrolysis may occur during processing resulting in defective parts and poor surface finish.

The D, SH and MH series of hot air dryers are particularly suited to non-hygroscopic thermoplastic granules. These non-hygroscopic materials retain moisture on the granule surface only, trapping a relatively small amount of humidity.

The D series of hot air dryers - with hopper capacities between 15 and 250 litres and process air flow between 50 and 400 m3/hr - may be mounted on a wheeled frame or directly to the process machine feed point.

The SH and MH series are floor standing and have capacities between 400 to 800 and 12oo to 2000 litres respectively. Air flow from 200 to 800 m3/hr with the SH series and up to 1000 m3/hr with the MH.

Dehumidifyer Dryers

Some materials, most commonly engineering polymers, are hygroscopic - that is they absorb moisture within the plastic granules.Dehumidifier dryer

Hot air dryers are not able to remove moisture from within the granule; for these materials a dehumidifier dryer is recommended. Molecular sieve dryers are one of the best methods of producing low dew point temperature air, as low as -50oC which has the capacity to draw out the moisture from within the granule and absorb it into the molecular sieve. Properties of a molecular sieve: the ability to hold large quantities of moisture and other particles at a relatively low temperature and to be regenerated by heating for reuse.
