A New Chapter for Intelicare

Phil and Julie

After 24 years of co-running Intelicare, founders Phil and Julie Jones have made the decision to step back from some of their day-to-day duties, as of 1st March 2025. Here we celebrate Intelicare’s achievements under the steerage of Julie and Phil, laying the foundation for what Intelicare has become today.

It has been an incredible journey building this company from the ground up, and we are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together. However, it’s now time for us to begin transitioning into a new phase, enjoying a bit of retirement while still remaining involved in the key decisions that shape Intelicare’s future.” – Phil Jones

A family business, Intelicare was founded by service engineer Phil in 2001 when he saw an opportunity to support UK manufacturing through high efficiency and quality equipment. Phil created a partnership with ancillaries manufacturer, New Omap, and so began to supply their equipment to customers he was servicing. The demand was great, and soon Phil’s wife Julie came on board, ensuring Intelicare was a well-run ship behind the scenes.

In 2005, Phil’s opportunity senses were tingling again, noticing a gap in the market for quality temperature control, and then again in 2007 partnering with Fontijne to offer heated platen laboratory presses. Both companies came on board with Intelicare to offer exclusive partnerships for the UK and Ireland.

Intelicare acquires new suppliers PEI and Isojet Equipments and forms its own in-house composites division headed by Gerald Richards. From presses and composite ovens to RTM resin injection equipment, Intelicare expanded its client base with universities and cutting-edge research facilities.

Intelicare continued to expand in 2019, with Paul Jones heading an extrusion division, entering a partnership with Bausano. From pipes and profiles, to medical, WPC and recycling. Bausano not only perfectly complement Intelicare’s existing portfolio, but push it into exciting new territories, including plastics recycling projects.

Having celebrated over 20 years on the industry, in 2024, Julie and Phil made the decision to both take a step back from the day to day running of Intelicare and hand over the reins to the next generation, with Paul and Leah Jones taking the lead.

Of the move Phil says, “Paul joined Intelicare in 2018, and Leah in 2021; both have already demonstrated strong commitment to our values, and we have complete confidence in their ability to steer the company forward. We also want to take a moment to let you know that, as part of these changes, Intelicare will be handing over all aspects of sales and aftersales of Frigosystem and NewOmap machinery to new representatives, and customers can contact us for any further information.

This change allows us to focus more on the areas where we can continue to provide the highest level of expertise and service. We wish to take this opportunity to thank Frigosystem and NewOmap for their long-term partnership and friendship.”

Intelicare will continue to be the exclusive partners for Bausano extrusion Lines and Fontijne Presses in the UK and Ireland.

Though Phil and Julie are stepping back from the day-to-day operations, Intelicare remains a family-run business, and are deeply committed to continuing to offer expert, UK-based service.

Of the future and new opportunities ahead, Paul Jones says “We look forward to taking Intelicare into the future and building on the strong foundation that Julie and Phil has worked so hard to create. We are excited about what the future holds, and we wish to thank all customers for their support, which continue to be invaluable”.
